Monday, February 1st, 2010Did you know that the Google search results you see aren’t necessarily those that your customers see? Google is gathering data on your searches for their customized search all the time. So the more searches you do, the more your personal search results are geared toward you as a consumer.
So how do you see the raw search results without that customization? First you have to log out of Google. Go to the Google homepage and see if your email address that’s associated with your google account is showing at the top right. if so, click “Sign out”. Tuesday, January 26th, 2010I was asked a live question during my show about keyword research recently, specifically if it’s the best way to find a good niche, and if I use the keywords in articles. And it was a good question, so I wanted to put the clip of my reply on here for you.
Also in the video, I discussed using Google’s free search-based keyword tool when brainstorming niches. This tool can be found at google.com/sktool. This is a preview of Is Keyword Research Really That Important?

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010It’s not news that Google is a gigantic conglomerate, whose decisions are financial first and foremost. However, this week marks a big change and a decision which was based on what’s right for mankind, and not money.
This week Google decided they will no longer censor their searches in China. This decision was made as a result of the extremely invasive hacks they were subjected to this past December. At first, they thought it was one of the more common and annoying hackers just causing trouble. But after thorough investigation it was found that the Chinese government themselves was the culprit. They were secretly and illegally reading gmails of human rights activists in China to get information. This is a preview of Google’s Conscience

Monday, January 11th, 2010Here it is…the biggest change in advertising since the 90s. No hype. This is huge. It’s based on several things that all occurred simultaneously. And here’s all of it:
1. Last week Google released a service for mobile devices called Click to Call. It enables the mobile device user to find the service or product they’re looking for using a Google search, then click on it directly to contact the business. Tuesday, January 5th, 2010I was just talking about this last week on the show, and it looks like today is a big day for mobile advertising!
Google’s really getting serious about mobile advertising. In November they purchased AdMob, a mobile display ad technology provider, for $750 million. If you’ve seen skinny horizontal ads at the top of an iPhone app or game, those have most likely been AdMob’s doing. In the past, AdMob has concentrated on mobile display ads, while Google has focused on search ads. This is a preview of Google AdWords Mobile Predictions Happening NOW
