If you are an affiliate marketer, you need to be aware of unethical/unscrupulous marketers. They often offer easy, fast and huge payouts. But their business practices are unethical. And they are giving affiliate marketing a bad name.
These companies will promote a product or service, take the consumer’s credit card information, bill them exorbitant fees monthly and make it nearly impossible for them to get requested refunds or stop the service. Sometimes they pass on the credit card information to other companies and add additional charges for additional services or products that the consumer knew nothing about. So what started as a small one-time charge turns into hundreds or thousands of dollars of unexpected debt for the consumer.

There is a lot of money to be made for sure. But scattered among the legitimate ones are the shady offers by companies who charge a lot of money for a much-less-than-awesome product, confuse the customers, withhold the actual amounts they will be charging, and make it nearly impossible to get your money back once you realize what’s happened.
As an affiliate marketer, you have to be responsible for what products you’re promoting, in the same way that you’d be responsible for items you sell in your own shop.

The forum roundup is where I answer questions live which were asked in the BusinessInnerCircle.com forums throughout the week. In this episode I answered the following questions from members:
1. What I think about pay-per-lead advertising.
2. Which emails to customers are spam and which are covered under “opt-in”.
Watch the clip below to find out. And if you want your OWN questions answered, post them in the forum. Who knows? I might even answer it on my live show!

This all surrounds marketers who sell free trial and continuity offers (membership sites & monthly autoship offers). This also touches any business who cross-sells and up-sells products and services.
These rules impact other businesses like direct mail and telephone merchants!
It’s important you fully understand the impact of this on your business. Visa, Mastercard & the FTC are all making some big changes and these new rules have the possibility to hurt your business if you don’t understand them.

It seemed pretty awesome to me. So I wanted to share it with you here.
VigLink is an affiliate link automator tool, basically. To see what they potentially can help you earn, they do a scan of the pages of your website for terms which relate to already-existing affiliate products. They will then give you an estimate of how much money you’re potentially missing out on.

“To prevent promoting unethical companies, would it be best to just find affiliate offers through known networks? Any advice on this?”
Yes, I do have advice. Here are a couple tips to ensure you are promoting a good product or service:
